It has been an amazing week! Who would've thought that I could feel as tired and ragged as I do...and yet I go away from the past few days feeling SO INCREDIBLY BLESSED. I have officially lost my voice, and been running on next to no sleep for DAYS...but it is all well worth it!
For those of you who don't know we [NDS] have been a band for about 8 years now, and for all 8 of those years it has been our DREAM to play at Creation Fest! Through a series of VERY fortunate events we managed to find our way to the late night stage this past year! And I will say one thing...It was EVERYTHING we hoped for! We met some AMAZING new friends, worked with the BEST staff and crew, played our hearts out and sold a ton of merch! And if that wasn't blessing enough...God worked in His mysterious way and somehow, by His grace the doors opened up for us to play the main stage the next day!
To be honest, it was just SUCH a breathe of fresh air! It was amazing to have God say "okay, you can play creation..." after 8 years of asking/begging Him to open that door! Just another little reminder that God hears our prayers and just because we don't get a "yes" right away, it doesn't always mean "no" maybe it's a "not yet!"
We have to always understand that God knows what's best for our character! Sometimes He answers our prayers in ways we don't necessarily like...But He's not worried about our comfort and pride! Phillipians 2:3-5 comes to mind for me when I think of why God doesn't just allow us to play every stage we want, and have everything we want....
"3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus"...
He is infinitely wise, isn't He?
well, I'm off to bed...time to catch up on this thing we like to call "sleep".... :]
